The Thanksgiving Table: A Poem of Gratitude

As autumn leaves begin to fall,

And the crisp air starts to call,

We gather 'round with hearts so full,

To share our thanks, our love, our all.

The table set with care and grace,

Reflects the joy upon each face,

From golden turkey to pumpkin pie,

The scents of home drift to the sky.

Grateful for the year behind,

For challenges that made us kind,

For laughter shared and tears we cried,

For the inner strength we cannot hide.

Let's toast to health, to joy, to light,

To every dawn and peaceful night,

For we are women, strong and bright,

Who face each day with all our might.

With friends and family by our side,

Through every season, every tide,

We celebrate the bonds that last,

And cherish moments, moving fast.

So raise a glass and lift your voice,

In gratitude, let's all rejoice,

For Thanksgiving’s spirit, warm and true,

And for the love that sees us through.

Embracing a Holistic Weight Loss Journey

Now, let’s delve into something very dear to my heart—embracing a holistic weight loss journey. 🧘‍♀️ For many women over 50, managing menopause weight can be challenging, but I assure you, it’s absolutely possible to achieve natural weight loss without the frustrating cycle of yo-yo dieting.

Holistic weight loss isn’t just about the number on the scale. It’s about nurturing your body, mind, and spirit. It’s about creating a healthy lifestyle that feels good and makes you feel vibrant and alive. Here are some steps to help you on this journey:

Nourish Your Body

   - Focus on whole foods: fresh fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains.

   - Stay hydrated: water is your best friend.

   - Listen to your body’s hunger cues and eat mindfully.

 Move with Joy

   - Find physical activities you love: dancing, walking, swimming, or yoga.

   - Incorporate strength training to maintain muscle mass.

   - Remember, it’s not about punishing workouts but joyful movement that keeps you zesty for life.

Cultivate Inner Peace

   - Practice mindfulness and meditation to reduce stress.

   - Engage in hobbies and activities that bring you happiness.

   - Surround yourself with supportive, positive people.

Celebrating Our Best Years

Ladies, we are in our best years! πŸ’ƒ We have the wisdom of experience and the freedom to enjoy life on our terms. Here are some ways to celebrate our wonderful age and make the most of every day:

Stay Curious and Keep Learning

   - Take up new hobbies or revisit old ones.

   - Enroll in a class or workshop that interests you.

   - Read books that inspire and challenge you.

 Nurture Relationships

   - Spend quality time with loved ones.

   - Join groups or clubs that align with your interests.

   - Volunteer and give back to your community.

 Practice Self-Care

   - Make time for relaxation and pampering.

   - Set boundaries to protect your time and energy.

   - Prioritize sleep and create a restful bedtime routine.

Natural Weight Loss: A Lifestyle, Not a Diet

One of the most empowering realizations is that natural weight loss is a lifestyle, not a diet. 🌿 It’s about making choices that support your well-being every day. Here’s how to incorporate these changes seamlessly:

Set Realistic Goals

   - Focus on small, attainable goals rather than drastic changes.

   - Celebrate your progress, no matter how small.

 Make Gradual Changes

   - Introduce new habits slowly to avoid feeling overwhelmed.

   - Replace one unhealthy habit at a time with a healthier alternative.

Be Patient and Kind to Yourself

   - Understand that lasting change takes time.

   - Forgive yourself for slip-ups and get back on track with kindness.

Thanksgiving: A Time for Reflection and Renewal

Thanksgiving is not only a time for delicious food and family gatherings but also a moment for reflection and renewal. πŸ‚ Here are some ways to use this holiday as a springboard for positive change:

Reflect on Your Journey

   - Take time to journal about your accomplishments and lessons learned over the past year.

   - Express gratitude for the growth you’ve experienced.

 Set Intentions for the Future

   - Identify areas where you want to focus your energy in the coming year.

   - Create a vision board or list of intentions to keep you motivated.

 Reaffirm Your Commitment to Health

   - Use this time to recommit to your holistic weight loss journey.

   - Plan ahead for healthy eating and staying active during the holiday season.

Sharon’s Thanksgiving Recipe: A Healthy Twist on Pumpkin Pie

To wrap up our Thanksgiving celebration, I want to share a recipe that’s a healthier twist on a classic favorite—pumpkin pie. πŸŽƒ This version is delicious and fits perfectly into a healthy lifestyle.

Ingredients:

- 1 can (15 oz) pure pumpkin

- 3/4 cup coconut sugar

- 2 large eggs

- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 tsp ground cinnamon

- 1/2 tsp ground ginger

- 1/4 tsp ground cloves

- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

- 1/4 tsp sea salt

- 1 pre-made whole wheat pie crust

 Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin, coconut sugar, and eggs. Mix well.
  3. Add the almond milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and sea salt. Stir until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture into the pre-made whole wheat pie crust.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cool before serving. Enjoy!

This pie is a wonderful way to enjoy the flavors of the season without compromising your commitment to a healthy lifestyle.
